Meet Mahnoor
(she/her/hers)
Atlanta based South Asian Therapist Specializing in Anxiety
Staying composed has become second nature, even when you’re unraveling on the inside.
Growing up, emotions weren’t named. Expectations were high. The unspoken rule: don’t rock the boat.
That pressure didn’t go away. You’re functioning, but it’s costing you more than anyone can see.
If you’ve been asking yourself,
“Who am I outside of what everyone expects from me?” it’s time for the next step.

Together we’ll work on:

Therapy that Honors Both Your Culture and Your Emotions
Many of the clients I work with come from South Asian and first-generation backgrounds, where love is often shown through sacrifice and silence is mistaken for strength.
Over time, that pressure can turn into anxiety, exhaustion, or feeling unsure of who you are outside of other people’s expectations.
In therapy, we untangle those patterns using culturally aware care, CBT, and mindfulness to help you understand your emotions, set boundaries without guilt, and reconnect with your own voice.
You don’t have to choose between honoring your culture and honoring your feelings.
Hi! I’m Mahnoor Farooq, LAPC
As a first-generation Pakistani Muslim woman, I understand the weight of carrying your family’s hopes while navigating a world that doesn’t always see you. I know how lonely it can feel to straddle cultures and how freeing it is to finally make space for yourself.
This perspective allows me to hold space for clients who are looking to explore the tension between tradition and autonomy, between loyalty and liberation.
I take pride in my cultural humility, respecting and valuing the diverse backgrounds and experiences that each client brings. Your comfort and understanding are my top priorities.
Mahnoor is available for evening individual therapy appointments. You may meet with Mahnoor in-person as well as online. Mahnoor’s services may be eligible for insurance reimbursement. She is under the direction and supervision of Rayvene Whatley, LPC.
Areas of Focus: Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma
I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma and understand how deeply these experiences can affect your daily life, relationships, and sense of stability.
Using approaches informed by psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and mindfulness, we explore the patterns beneath your stress, emotional responses, and self-doubt so you can better understand yourself and begin creating meaningful change.
Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, strengthening coping skills, and helping you move through difficult experiences with greater clarity and resilience.

How Therapy Can Help
Therapy offers a space where you can slow down, reflect, and talk openly about what you’ve been carrying.
In our sessions, you’ll have the support to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment while developing practical tools to manage challenges, improve relationships, and reconnect with what matters most to you.
Over time, many clients find they feel more grounded, more confident in their decisions, and better able to navigate life with a stronger sense of direction.
