YOU love seeing others happy but are starting to wonder if this comes at your own expense.

Through your routine of taking care of family, work, and friends, you tend to forget about YOURSELF. The habit of leaving yourself out is learned. A message that you unknowingly picked up along the way and struggle to put down. I get it, prioritizing others often feels like a requirement with no end in sight. And there seem to be very few alternatives. If any.

The stress of helping your loved ones with their problems is just as stressful as dealing with your own.

Through guidance & transparency, therapy will empower you to support yourself.

Reasons you need to honor time for yourself include:

      • Caring for others indirectly exposes you to extra stressors
      • Prioritizing caregiving over self-care may lead to a greater risk for health problems
      • Acknowledging your experiences make you more open to receiving help

While it may be socially acceptable to ignore your needs, stuff your feelings, or pretend that you aren’t overwhelmed. This so-called strength is not worth it’s costs. It's not worth YOU. Now's the time to develop coping skills so that you can confront life's challenges. You can also learn to effectively manage depression and anxiety while continuing to live your life.

Heal Your Inner Child

As a therapist, one of the things I emphasize is the concept of an "inner child."  I focus on the importance of engaging in self-reflection that concentrates on and considers traumatic events that occurred during childhood. I help individuals to identify the ways their childhood impact their present and implement the necessary changes that allow them to move forward. Healing you inner child may help you to understand feelings of fear, abandonment, and rejection so that your relationships are filled with connection and communication.

As a client, you should anticipate learning the following things:

      • Learn how your past trauma drives your present behavior.
      • Identify healthy methods for coping.
      • Reconnect with interests, aspirations, and abilities that may have been set aside.
      • Feel confident with the decisions made.
      • Increase emotional control.
      • Enhance self-awareness, self-compassion, and sincerity.
      • Learn how to reparent and properly manage the child who lives inside you.
